Fitting Protocol
First Appointment:
Audiometric and speech discrimination tests.
Full discussion on test results, suitability for hearing aid use, style and prices.
Second Appointment:
Programming and fitting of hearing aid on trial, with complete explanation of operation, tactics to obtain the best results and the limitations to be expected with your particular hearing loss.
First Review Appointment:
Usually seven days after second appointment. This appointment allows you to relate your experiences with the aid, so that any “fine tuning” of the programmed response can be made. It allows us to check if you are operating it competently and to ensure the physical comfort of the fitting.
Second Review Appointment:
Usually seven to fourteen days later. This appointment is for the same purpose as the first review. You may then decide to purchase the aid or return it without cost or continue the trial if further changes are necessary.
Third Review Appointment:
This appointment is usually eight weeks after the aid has been purchased. It is very valuable as it allows for a final assessment after approximately three months experience. It is not uncommon for the hearing aid program to be further adjusted at this appointment.
Warranty Check:
We contact you for an appointment to check your hearing aid and re-test your hearing before the warranty expires. Thereafter we recommend yearly hearing tests.
There is no additional charge for the above appointments.
